In a new Adobe Developer Connection article Christian Cantrell explain several techniques to help Flash developers author content that will render properly on any device, regardless of its screen resolution and pixel density: Authoring mobile Flash content for multiple screen sizes.

Adobe recently announced that Adobe Flash Professional CS5 will give Flash developers the ability to build and deploy native iPhone and iPod touch applications. As the Flash Platform continues to proliferate and reach more devices, developers need to adopt techniques for authoring with multiple screen sizes and resolutions in mind. (via Mark) - The Mobile World Congress is a massive event with some 50,000 attendees from around the world.  Each year there are around 50 Adobe employees from across the organization in attendance, including all the key members of the platform team at Adobe.

As always, the Spanish User Group are proud to host the Adobe Day at Adobe’s offices in Barcelona. This is your chance to hear direct from the Adobe team about their announcements, and to see Flash Player 10.1 on devices for the first time.

(via Mark) - Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, given the huge investments with the Open Screen Project, will be Adobe's most important event in the mobile calendar. There will be a lot of interest for the launch of Flash Player 10.1 and iPhone native apps with Flash and Adobe AIR®. For this reason Adobe is giving away upon request complimentary passes to the Mobile World Congress exhibition halls. Lee Brimelow (Platform Evangelist at Adobe) published today his Flash Player 10.1 multi-touch FAQ page. Lee tried to answer to the most asked questions that have come up after the publication of Lee's videos and examples...

As you can tell I have been having tons of fun lately playing with the new multi-touch and gesture APIs in Flash Player 10.1 and AIR 2.0. Based on my videos and examples there have been a ton of questions that have come up, many of which I didn’t know the answers to. There are still many things to test and I will pick Danny Dura’s brain while we are sunning ourselves this week in Brasil. Danny has done a lot of work with these APIs and will be doing a session on them at Flash Camp Brasil. Below are some answers to the most asked questions that have come up.

Google recently announced Google Nexus One (made by HTC), the latest Android device out there. As Adobe announced at MAX, Google has joined the Open Screen Project to bring another level of openness to the Web that is good for both developers and users and the Google Nexus One will support Adobe Flash Player 10.1 (as browser plugin). The Flash 10.1 is not shipping with the phone but it will be added later on.


Watch Adrian Ludwig preview an early version of Flash Player 10.1 running on the new device.

(via Ryan Stewart) - Tonight Adobe released the AIR 2 and Flash Player 10.1 betas on Adobe Labs (direct download links for Flash Player and AIR). This is the first time Adobe simultaneously release the desktop (AIR) and browser (Flash Player) runtimes for all three platforms (Mac, Windows, Linux) at once which is a great milestone for the Flash Platform. One of the biggest thing with this release is the huge memory improvements we seen at MAX this year.
