This year I will have the honor and pleasure to represent Small Screen Design at MAX 2011 in Los Angeles and showcase our Cassandra Stand application. This will be my first MAX, so if you'll be there too and if you like, just stop by and say Hi!

Flash Development for Android Cookbook by Joseph Labrecque is now out for sale and I'm very proud to be among the book's technical reviewers! The book contains 372 pages of useful information and solid recipes for developing killer Android applications using Flash Platform technology.
The Flash Development for Android Cookbook enables Flash developers to branch out into Android mobile applications through a set of essential, easily demonstrable recipes. It takes you through the entire development workflow: from setting up a local development environment, to developing and testing your application, to compiling for distribution to the ever-growing Android Market.

For the second year in a row I'll be present at the most interesting mobile developer conference here in Italy, the WHYMCA. And this time the whole Small Screen Design crew will join me! The conference will take place in Milan the 20th-21th May and will cover lots of interesting topics from development to design and user experience.
There will be also a whole Flash Camp about AIR Mobile and Playbook development! Among the Flash Camp speakers there are well known professionals like Mihai Corlan, Andrea Trento and Luca Mezzalira. Ah! Alessandro La Rosa is a speaker too! You can find the agenda and all information about the event here (italian). Stop by and say hi if you'll be there too!

We recently did some intensive testing on Android Face Detection capabilities investigating various solutions. Francesco Florio (Small Screen Design) wrote a very interesting article about our findings and the features and issues related to Android face detection, in order to create a Demo application that allows realtime human face tracking. You can read the full post here.
This is just the first part of the whole content, so, stay tuned!

We, at Small Screen Desing, have just published a new awesome Live Wallpaper on the Android Market: Flick Ur Pics.
Flick Ur Pics is as simple as cool. It lets you show a distinct background image from your gallery for each home screen page! Just flick with your finger between home screens to see the wallpaper changing using all your gallery images. With few taps you can select a favorites list of images from the whole device library to be used as wallpaper.
You can choose between fade or slide animation type for the transitions, and how to display your pictures in every home screen selecting the fill mode you prefer (tile mode, stretch mode, fill mode). You can also enable automatic rotation between backgrounds with different timings.
I'm happy to announce that this blog is now featured in "Alltop" mobile stories! AllTop is a news aggregator that allows you to track the best inspiration news available in the Internet.
The purpose of Alltop is to help you answer the question, "What’s happening?" in "all the topics" that interest you. Alltop does this by collecting the headlines of the latest stories from the best sites and blogs that cover a topic, groups these collections — "aggregations" — into individual web pages.
Then Alltop displays the five most recent headlines of the information sources as well as their first paragraph. A pretty cool news... Thank you Alltop staff!

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
